The Harry Potter author said she has never even visited The Old Fire House in her life, the pub which held a long-standing urban myth among students and Exonians that it was the inspiration for The Leaky Cauldron.
Her rebuttal was shared to her 14 million Twitter followers, who span the globe. Her tweet was in direct response to a Devonlive. It’s not all bad news for city Potter fans, she did reveal the city pubs she did frequent. The news came as blow to many Harry Potter fans who studied at the University of Exeter, with the Uni’s Harry Potter society even using it for their social events. Exeter folklore tells of it serving as inspiration for the cramped streets of Diagon Alley.
The confidential transaction was handled by Devon-based business sales advisors Charles Darrow on behalf of Flamequire Limited and after a brief, confidential marketing campaign.

After Contradictions There are numerous contradictions in the timeline, though it should be noted that, in the FAQ section of her website , Rowling has admitted having difficulty with managing mathematics, so perhaps perfect internal consistency is not to be expected. In addition, considering the Harry Potter universe is a fantasy world, it’s possible that certain dates may differ between it and the “real world”.
Despite its problems, this timeline is extensively used by fans and Warner Bros.
eHarmony Here I paid serious cha-ching to get curated matches– so these people were basically me with different anatomy, except everyone was freakishly timid and on their best, most boring behavior.
Didn’t I just read Harry Potter for the first time, soundtracked, probably, by the Spice Girls’ magnificent Spiceworld album, or someone’s Tamagotchi announcing its death with a chirp? The speed with which the Earth turns is unsettling, indeed, and to celebrate Harry Potter’s milestone, the New York Academy of Medicine in East Harlem has dug up some even older books—they’re releasing a digital archive of literature dating as far back as the 15th century that focuses on some of the creatures, plants, and other magical entities featured in the series.
If you’ve ever wondered what a real merperson looks like, now’s your chance. The collection, dubbed ” How to Pass Your O. A Prep Course ,” is meticulously put together by library curator and Harry Potter superfan Anne Garner, and sources from a few of the year-old historical library’s extensive collection of medical texts. Garner has separated the texts by class, so if you prefer to spend some time with Hagrid and Buckbeak, you can peruse the “Care of Magical Creatures” collection, complete with dragons and the aforementioned merpeople from Italian naturalist Ulisse Aldrovandi’s 16th century animal encyclopedias, unicorns from Swiss naturalist Conrad Gessner’s 16th century manifesto Historia Animalium, and a 17th century illustration of Athanasius Kircher’s three-headed dog Fluffy!
Swing by Professor Sprout’s greenhouse, and you’ll be blessed with an adorable drawing of a pair of mandrakes from the 15th century Hortus Sanitatis, while Potions class with Snape includes a photo of a real life bezoar—which, it turns out, does not work as an antidote to most poisons, much to the chagrin of one 16th century cook who had the misfortune of serving as a human experiment. The collection includes some 17th and 18th century texts on alchemy, as well—including one with a reference to Nicolas Flamel, who you might remember from the first Harry Potter book.
Flamel was a famous bookseller in France in the 14th century, and though he didn’t really invent the Philosopher’s Stone, he has probably erroneously been remembered posthumously as a successful alchemist. There’s also a very cool-looking little book from that details witch-hunting, if you’re in the market for some tips.

They were in a relationship with Harry Potter for 14 years from the time the first book came out to when the last movie was released. No matter how often a movie truncated a complex storyline, they grumbled and hung in there. Plus, we all saw the miraculous transformation of movie-Neville. They appreciate when the person they love loves them in return.
The two-year wait between book six and book seven was painful, but they survived. Now, any wait shorter than that is a piece of cake.

Comments Shares A new video seemingly shows just over a minute of an unannounced Harry Potter open-world action RPG in action and, at the risk of sounding hyperbolic, it kinda looks like everything Potter fans have ever wanted in a game. You create your own wizard, choose which house you belong to, wander the famous halls of Hogwarts, cast powerful spells, and unravel an enigma that threatens the very fate of the Wizarding World. And since the original video and many of its mirrored versions on YouTube now say they were taken down because they contain content from Warner Bros.
The video was originally been uploaded by Reddit user VapeThisBro , who claims they clandestinely recorded the video after being approached to do a market research survey at a mall. They also claim that they took pictures of some additional still images though they refrained from uploading them for fear of being identified. They transcribed some written materials about the game as well, which I’ve copied over here with some light editing for typoes.
